Delhi : Foodies Paradise

Being a true foodie by heart, whenever you visit a new place you are bound to hunt down all the best food joints of the town, specially when it comes to a place like Delhi, well known for its food. Mentioned below are some of the best spots to munch on when you visit Delhi. Do check them out and let me know your reviews.
  1. Kake Da Hotel

If you are an avid Butter Chicken lover, this place is a must visit. Food made in desi ghee is what they are well known for. A small decent place but bustling with crowd. We ordered for a Butter chicken plate and roti which was served with diced onions, some green chillies and mint chutney. Rich in spices, meat well cooked and tender. The gravy itself was rich in taste with succulent piece of chicken.

  2.  Giri Momos
Delhi's latest trend is the Tandoori momos and so this had to be on my list. We tried the famous Tandoori momos and Afghani momos. The momos were stuffed with chicken nothing special in the inside. The main flavours were on the outside. Coated with hot Tandoori spices and creamy white sauce and than roasted to give a smoky flavour. Definitely something new to try. Apart from these they also offer various different varieties of momos.
  3. Parathewali Gali

Delhi is quite famous for its Parathewali gali no doubt. Looking at the variety of paratha they serve it's quite difficult to make up your mind. The parathas here are served with Mint chutney, garlic chutney, Aloo curry, mix veg curry, some salad and pickle. So basically be prepared for loads of sides. They also serve dessert paratha i.e Rabri paratha. Served hot with rich creamy Rabri with dryfruits oozing out on every bite.

  4. Kay's Fast FoodThis is a the best place to have all types of roasted chicken. We tried their famous Peshawari Chicken. Soft chicken well marinated in spices and curd and roasted to give the perfect finish. The spices worked wonders and went so well with the smoky chicken. Totally a must try if you happen to visit Delhi.
  5. PCC : Punjabi Chaap Corner

Delhi Chaap is another famous delicacy and again a must try. The PCC or the Punjabi Chaap Corner is serving this delicacy since long with multiple outlets spread across delhi. We ordered for a Malai Chaap and Lemon Chaap. Firstly it's hard to believe even for a meat lover that it might taste so good. The Chaap is made of mashed soya and in some instances paneer yet it is nice meaty, soft and juicy.
  6. Natraj Dahi Bhalle Wala

Moving over to Chaat, this is somewhat a Delhi version of Mumbai's Dahi wada. Soft moist wada, topped with mint and tamarind chutney and a dallop of cool sweet curd with seasonings. I must admit Delhi is quite good when it comes to flavours. Also try their tikki chaat.

  7. JB Kachori Wala
JB kachori wala is indeed quite famous amongst tourist as well as localites. Loads of Kachoris are fried contuosly to satiate the hunger of the crowd. It consists of hot Kachoris topped with spices, chutneys and their traditional Aloo ki sabji with some chillies and lemon squeezed on top. Spicy tangy, just the right combination for a true chaat lover.

  8. BTW : Bittoo Tikki Wale

This is one famous outlet spread across Delhi. BTW or Bitoo Tikki Wale quite an abbreviation here. This is famous for its variety of tikki chaats. We tried their puchkas and Aloo tikki chaat. Again must say Delhi truly is good at Chaat. The chutneys, the spices are just perfect.

  9. Daulat ki Chaat

It is said to be God's Treat, an age old traditional souffle made of milk available only during the winter season. It is so light and fluffy, a bite seems like biting into foam, with sweetness of mava and garnished with dryfruits. The process though is quiet tedious and takes more than a day to prepare. This truly is an art of food.

  10. Soda : Finally quench your thirst and digest all of the above with some refreshing Soda.

Overall, Delhi is great with spices and flavours of all kinds. With its diverse culture, the variety of food options are surely appealing. The capital is now booming in terms of Food industry. However if you really wanna experience the traditional Delhi flavors, Delhi Street Food is the best bet. We have tried to cover such places which are a must visit.

“ Aaj Khaane Mei kya hai??? ” The most common question in every house. No matter where you go, no matter whom you ask, be it a caring mother, or a loving wife; a protective father or a pampering husband. No matter who’s turn is it, in the end all that matters is who’s cooking and what’s cooking? A young boy after school comes home running all the way to his mom, hungry and asking “ Maa, aaj khane mei kya hai? ” A daughter on her birthday asking, “ Mamma, aaj special khane mei kya hai? ” Husband before opening his lunch over the phone asking his wife, “ Acha suno, aaj khane mei kya hai? ”  Millions of moments cherished, billions of hearts connected. How a simple question at times can open up so many emotions. While there are still many lonely souls in town living independently away from family. Souls who toil day and night in this bustling city to achieve their dreams, for them having a proper relaxed meal can be a task at times. Where the so called “ Khana ” is nothing ...
